my own cake wreck
Mother's day cake

Hey so I finally figured out how to submit a cake to cake wrecks, I just had to read her blog, which I didn't really have time to before. So next time I have a totally awsome cake I will submit it.
I get emails from Wilton for specials and deals and things and they sent me a picture of a mother's day cake that I guess was in a book a couple years ago. But I totally want to make it for mom.
I will just have to go buy the cake pans cause I don't have those or use square cake pans, but I don't think it will look as cute, and I should probably start making the flowers now so that they are dry. But that should be the hardest part.
You know it is really hard to work on the computer and type with a 18 month old on your lab. He loves to hit the keys and push the keyboard back under the desk with his feet. Kinda wears on your patience.
This is him in his temple day clothes. We thought he looked very handsom.
Well, I will let you know how the mother's day cake comes out.

Ok, this cake was a little different. It was done for valentine's day, for a girl my mom works with. She wanted to give her boyfriend a ring, and she wanted the ring to be inside the cake. So basically you pull on the big red bow and pull up a ring. The strawberries were done just as a romantic thing. Oh, and than to deliver the cake I met her at a gas station, how crazy is that.

This cake was done for of course another friend, who wanted a dirt bike cake. Well, it was due the same weekend as the first birthday cake so I was really stressed about getting them both done. So it is done a little cheaply. If that is a word, sorry bro. But I just went and bought the truck and bike. The bike goes in the truck if you needed an explanation. But it worked out cause she also has a huge black truck, and of course she loved it. I did this cake in about 2 hours. After I finished the other birthday cake.

this was the biggest cake I have done for money. It was for my friend's daughter's first birthday. She wanted it to look like the party plates and invites so that is what I worked on. She like the idea of the stripes on the bottom and spots in the middle. The cupcake on top was the smash cake. I stressed over this cake because I knew my friend was stressing over the whole party so I wanted it to be prefect.
I seem to like to take pics while to cake is in the fridge for some reason. But what ever. I was done finally so I was happy.

Ok, so the picture isn't all that great, I'm really going to have to stop taking pictures with my phone, but my other camera sucks, and it isn't always right on hand. So this cake wasn't so much fun. First off this is the first pillow cake I've done. And instead of taking the easy way out and buying a fake tiera at the dollar store I actually tried to make one. It looked easy enough on the web. But if you're wondering, the tiera is made with royal icing. It broke to pieces the first time, so I had to start all over again. But it was ok because I started this a few days before it was due, so I did have time to redue it. The second time I made the tiera it did brake in a couple spots, but I was able to fix it with more icing. I made my mom drive me to the client's house so I could hold the cake. I held the cake up the whole time so it wouldn't be bumped around by the car ride.I know you can't see them but there are crystals in there.
Ok, sorry top image was uploaded last, but there is a close up pic of the tiera.

Ok, this is the sponge bob cupcake cake. Like I said I did this from a tiny little picture off of the cupcake baking cup, and I never saw Sponge bob, really I think it's stupid. A sponge that lives on the bottom of the sea. It might be something if it was a really sea sponge, but it is a stupid kitchen yellow sponge. Well any way, my friend loved it. Oh, and I did this cake after the other two cakes that were due the same day, at around 10pm. It only took me 2 hours to decorate it, and about an hour to bake the cupcakes, so I thought I did good.

It's been a while
Okay, I know it's been a while since I've posted any new photos. I'm truly sorry. I do have more photos of cakes, I've been fairly busy with cakes, but I have no idea how to get them off my phone onto the computer without the card adapter. So I will have to remember to get back on here when I get home where the adapter is.
I've been looking at cakewrecks.blogspot.com, if you haven't seen it you should. There are some really crazy people out there that have some very nasty looking cakes they expect people to eat let alone buy. I just think they are funny. I don't think I could ever give away a cake like the wrecks on her blog.
I wish I could figure out how to get my pictures off my phone, cause I have a good sponge bob cake, made out of cup cakes, of course, ok, well, some people might not think it's all that great, but I think it's good, since it was the last of three cakes I had to do for one weekend, I've never seen the Sponge Bob cartoon, and the only picture I had to work from was a small little 1/2 inch pic on a cupcake baking cup.
Ok, work becons me.
See who ever later
