R2D2 cake

Ok, so this isn't the best R2D2 cake ever made, but I think it turned out fairly well, for my first try.

I made it for a friend's wife, who is also a friend. She loves Star Wars. I was going to do the Death Star, but I thought this would be funner. The cake it self is 2 6 inch rounds, all torted, with I believe just icing. The legs are rice crispy treats, which is also the first time I tried. The head is a half of a sports ball pan. The rest is fondant. It was fun to make, and I don't think I would mind doing another one. It isn't as good as Mark Joseph's R2D2, but I don't know if I will ever be that good. Here's his web site if your interested http://www.markjosephcakes.com/. I fell in love with his cake. I would love to meet him and find out how he does his cakes, but I'm sure he has had lots of practice and schooling.

If you're wondering why his head isn't on straight it is because I messed up and had to cover it with his leg, so it is a good thing his head can turn all the way around.

Thanks for looking.

That's so awesome. I think you did a great job. I can't imagine that R2D2 is a very easy shape to make and yet it looks exactly like him.
Great work.
